This charming new title is a collection of over 450 vintage photographs of dogs in all sorts of settings: during Christmas and in the sea, posing for a family portrait and pushed hard by an overly enthusiastic young children, a Chihuahua in a tea cup and a Great Dane standing high by young owners. Dogs are an important book for dog lovers and animals, presenting amateur anonymous photographs of dogs from the turn of the century to the early 1950s in the ordinary and extraordinary settings. Johnson’s collection of photographs in its unpretentious attitude and days gone-by aesthetic presents a picture of family life and show the human timeless relationship with his “best friend”.

As a collector of dog pictures and amateur photographer, I had this boken.
The series includes races is fantastic so is the volume of photographs ingÄr.
The quality of the book (binding, paper) forced me to limit the book to four stars. Given the price of the book, you can still enjoy the content rather than paying through the nose for a big, shiny, impeccably printed coffee table type bok.
If you love or friend love not only your dog, but all the dogs and what means for dogs our society, this is a valuable book.
Dog pictures, I collect myself so I love books by the old dog pictures. This book is fantastic. The pictures are great. Wonderful to look through and read the titles. If you are interested in the old dog photos or watch the dog pictures in general, you’ll love this book!
The book is a collection of eclectic images family dog. Catherine is one of the largest collectors of these old images. It looks as if the images are mounted on the sides. This book is really neat. These pictures are very special. This book impressed me in the quality of the printed far more than I can express.
I love everything about this book. The photographs are stunning, and quotes are cute and funny. Wonderfully done!
I really loved the book and have also decided to buy it as a gift for my parents 52nd Jubilee. As a dog lover, they will appreciate it. Now we will both have the same coffee table book. Granted some of the photographs in the book is not of very good quality but they are old photographs. Its a must have book for all who love their four legged friends and to all who love to see that people 80 years ago loved their dogs as much as we love them today.
